What is meant by ScottishPower Connect?

ScottishPower Connect is our remote heating control product which lets you to control your boiler and hot water via your mobile while you are far away from home, it lets you greater control over your energy usage. By using ScottishPower connect Mobile app, you can turn your boiler and hot water on and off, can adjust temperature and create heating schedules.

How we can set-up ScottishPower Connect?

You can follow the checklist below to make sure you are ready to get ScottishPower Connect:

  1. The connect hub needs good 2G Mobile phone indication at your home. You can check signal strength using O2's signal checker.
  2. Unluckily ScottishPower Connect will not work if you have electric or oil heating in your home. You should have gas or LPG Powered heating.
  3. Connect is not well-suited with the following simulations of boilers: Warm Air Unit; Power Max Boilers, Potterton EP2000, Gledhill Heatstore.
  4. Be Conscious that while the connect hub must be wired to the boiler, so make sure there is a suitable place for it to be installed near the boiler.
  5. If you are home rental individual, then you should take the home owner’s approval to install Scottish Power Connect.
  6. If you want to install ScottishPower Connect app to your phone, you will need android or Apple Smartphone to download it from Google Play/Apple Apps stores.  This app will be used in combination with connect Ihub to control your heating. If you do not have Suitable smartphone, then you can use Connect Hub via Text messages.

With the help of this ScottishPower Connect hub Mobile App, you can full control your heating and hot water in your home. It is also helpful even if you are far away from your home.

It lets you control your heating through five key functions:

  1. Set heating and hot water times: You can set heating and water times for up to 3 hours on/off periods each day. If you have combi boiler, you don’t have to set water times - Hot water should be available at any time.
  2. Set temperature: With the help of this Connect Hub, You can set temperature of your heating or hot water mode.
  3. Boost:   If you need to place your heating or hot water on outside your time scheduled, it’s simple to boost up to 6 hours, using boost button in mobile app.
  4. Hold: Use “advance off” function, if you need to stop your heating before the end of the time schedule.
  5. Holiday Mode: Holiday mode is used for keeping your heating and hot water to turn off while you are on holiday for number of days you specify in the Holiday Mode option.
    1. Here are the steps of enabling Holiday mode:
      1. Press menu/back button
      2. Navigate to ‘Holiday Mode’ and click
      3. You can select any number of days(Max 99) and click
      4. Click on ‘Activate Holiday now’ and click; display will show a suitcase
      5. If you want to cancel holiday mode, click on any button. Navigate to ‘cancel holiday mode’ and click. Holiday mode will be disabled.
